Recommend carb and intake
OK guys. Looking togo carb set up. Looking for some recommendations.
Here's what I have.
383 stroker full roller motor
Scat crank 4340 with I beam rods
11to 1
Kieth black forged pistons -4.9
Engine pro (pro comp) heads 64cc 2.02 (modified to 2.05) 180 fully ported. Flow is 262.5 188 at .600
1.5 roller rockers
Comp cam 242\248 584\579 on a 113 LSA at 0.050 part # 12-468-8
T56 trans
373 gears
The motor has about 8000 miles on it. I won't know if I'm going to fresh in it up until I get into it. The other thing is the cam is a fuel injected cam. Can I keep the cam?
This will be a street car. Cruise night type car. But I'm still looking for good streetability.
I was looking into the edelbrock rpm and a holly 750 dp
Or the weiand duel plane stealth intake. Bing$$$
But open to suggestions. Kinda new to carbs. Just looking togo back to old school. Simple clean.
Thanks.

Edelbrock Performer RPM (Air Gap type, preferably).
2nd the Holley 750 DP. This one is what I would have gotten if it had been available at the time:

Yes, you can keep the cam. A bit odd that the exhaust has less lift than the intake, that was probably to keep the EFI happy. Something else may make the same power with better driveability, but what you have will be at least okay.

Re: Recommend carb and intake
Thanks five7kid. That's a very nice carb u have picked out.
After more research it looks like the 750 is the way to go. Also the rpm intake.
I appreciate the info. Yes the exhaust was left that way for the efi. What sat on top of the motor above was a super ram with accel gen 7 dual sync distributor. Was built for spray. But never got that far. Also has a built 700r4 with a 3400 stall. Very fun.
But the cam is just a little to choppy. That will be the next thing I look into if I have to tear down the long block for a refresh.
I was gonna go with a ls1 t56 swap. But I figure I have a good start with what I have. And I can go back to my high school days (lol) and put a carb on. And go with a 6 speed trans. and have fun with that for awhile. Then look into a ls swap.
Thanks.
