86 Iroc-z Carb
Hi folks
Just got this car ,and mechanic says the quadrajet is non-electronic.He sees no wiring harness etc.
Is this possible,or more like previous owners swapped carb etc.
Dist may not be original, not sure
Thanks

Re: 86 Iroc-z Carb
If it's a US car, not possible.
If it's a Canada or other export car, definitely maybe.
I'm going to guess it's a swap.
Photos would help.
What is "mechanic"?
Did this ,,, mechanic … thing … come with the car when you bought it? Did you have to pay extra for it? Is it properly installed? All the wires and tubes and stuff all hooked up right? (not that I would know how that is, not sure I've ever even heard of such coming in an ANTIQUE car)

Look at the decal under your hood on the fan shroud.

Re: 86 Iroc-z Carb
Thanks folks,
So just took the car for a drive ,after 17 years(yes that's right) of storage.
Ran well for maybe 15 miles or so I put the pedal to the metal to open the secondaries and it started stumbling and died.
It would not idle, but I got it running again to get home,I then observed fuel dripping down behind the choke stat
Its a Q jet 17086581 M4ME carb (Canadian)
Any ideas?Im thinking old fuel maybe, but a sudden leak?
Thanks Shawn
