Know where to find a NEW Q jet?

I found out recently from a reliable source that there is at least one company that is manufacturing new, not rebuilt, Q jet carbs. I have looked for a while and can't find this company. There many who rebuild them but the quality is supposed to be very hit or miss so I'm for getting a new one. Does anyone know who supplies these carbs? Any info is appreciated.

I've seen new qjets on Amazon. I'm sure they're off shore castings and builds based on the 200ish dollar price tags. Who knows what quality is on them but they're there.

The "new" Q's I've seen on amazon all turned out to be rebuilts that the manufacturer rebuilds but I'll look some more.

Re: Know where to find a NEW Q jet?

I was looking for a new QuadraJet a few years ago and struck out. I believe Edelbrock sold a Q-Jet replacement, but no more. I wound up going with a Holley 650, vac secondaries, 0-80555C. It's not a Q-Jet design but it is a spreadbore and has the fuel inlet in the factory location.

I won't be installing it for another year. I bought it now because gold finish is being discontinued. I found one on eBay. AutoZone also has some left. The store couldn't order it but their website said it could ordered online and home delivered.

I know. I could have gotten a universal Holley for about half that. I could have formed a fuel line that looks factory. But, I like the direct bolt-on.

Re: Know where to find a NEW Q jet?

I had a 80555 (vac sec 650 spreadbore) once. I didn't care for it. I bought it because it was listed for the application I had (late 70s L48 POS), butt in immediate hindsight at the time, I wished I'd have bought a 6210 (man sec 650 spreadbore) instead. The 80555 was "OK" and all, nothing was really "bad" or "wrong" with it; just, the 80555 just didn't have the whooma-whooma that the 6210 does. I was never really able to dial the emissions "feel" out of it. Only thing in 2025 would be, whether the electric choke kit for the 6210, is still available. I used 6210s (and 6211, same thing except 800 CFM) with a divorced choke, on several different cars over the years; needed a 2-bl stat (works the reverse of a 4-bbl one) and a "custom" link aka piece of coat hanger wire, butt having the electric choke to hook up to our cars, would be better for them. MUCH eeeeeeezier than rigging up the divorced arrangement to some intake that doesn't have provisions for it, or even a crossover passage, to begin with.

As far as "new" Q-Jets, the ONLY actual mfr of "new" Q-Jets is Rochester. You'll see ones with Carter cast into them within a certain year range, butt that's because the Rochester plant had a fire, so they subbed out production to Carter for acoupla years. Only way they'd still be being made is if there's sufficient demand; which would NOT be the "enthusiast" aftermarket. It would need to be something in significant volume, like pumps, generators, boats, etc. Problem with the car ones is, there's WWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY too many variations of them, and there's no way there'd be enough volume of any one part # to support any semblance of mass production, except MAYBE if they made one of the best of the late 60s Chevy applications such as 7029202 or the like. Can't imagine there'd be enough demand for E4ME like our cars would need for a stock(ish) bolt-on.
