I’m gathering the parts to convert TBI to carb. This will be a track only car and for now I’m going to try a Holley 750DP on a Vortec headed 350. I’m a little confused about the AFPR. I’ve read the sticky, however, it’s an older thread. Do I need a 3-port regulator or can I run a 2 port? Can anyone give some guidance on which AFPR to get. Thanks.

 

I went from TPI to carb. Not sure about TBI to carb. but I think you need the same. Maybe someone smarter than I will verify.
For TPI you need 3 port return style. I have this one. It works great.

I went from the stock 305 TBI to a built 383 Stroker with a BIGS Performance Next Gen 780 carb. I first tried the standard Holley 12-881 return style regulator but kept having issues with fuel shooting out of the fuel bowl vents. After talking to the owner at BIGS, we decided a new dual stage regulator was needed. I went with the Aeromotive 13220, which adjusts from 8-16 PSI on the pump line and 5-9 PSI at the carb. This unit has a return line, which is needed if you keep the stock fuel system. It is a more expensive unit, but my fuel pressure issues are a thing of the past.
