Too much fuel pressure
We have an 84 z28 ho. We had the 305 rebuilt and going back together. The previous owner pulled off the original carb and installed a quadrajet off of a 90’s Chevy, that’s what the s/n of the carb refers to. The mechanical fuel pumpeepulled off didn’t have the return line, and he blocked off the return. My question is. I installed a new mechanical pump w/ return, per spec, it has the electric Fuel pump in the tank. I’m getting too much pressure at the carb and is flooding out. Is there a lower pressure mechanical pump? The one I installed is rated at 7 to 10 psi.
thanks for the help

Re: Too much fuel pressure
You can't have 2 pumps. Either remove the in tank pump and use the mechanical or remove the mechanical and use the intank pump with a regulator to lower pressure to 5-7psi.
