Just completed the carb swap and ripped out the TPI tonight. Took about 4 hours total. Replaced it with an Edelbrock 750CFM carb and an Edelbrock RPM intake. I have to say the power difference is phenomenal! It keeps pulling to 7K w/out a sweat! This with out ANY tuning to the carb and a stock HEI distributor. I hope I can learn a few things here on this board as I am new to the world of carbs.

I did it back in August and have enjoyed the crap out of going back to the basics of raw power - like the original muscle cars of the 60's and early 70's. If I had only ditched the TBI when I did my 305 to 383 engine swap, my car would be so much further along now than it is (better gears, interior items). I wasted a lot of money and time trying to make the TBI/ECM work. It was one of the worst experiences in my life.
