Car: 82 Berlinetta/57 Bel Air
Engine: L92/LQ4 (both w/4" stroke)
Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
Well, that's a pretty general question.
But...
Pro - it's the HO version, meaning it has most of the goodies the factory managed to put on - dual snorkel air cleaner, larger exhaust, better cam.
Con - it's still pretty wimpy in the areas of cam, heads, exhaust.
Pro - it's a factory V8 3rd gen car.
Con - it's a 19-year-old car.
Pro - it's a small block Chevy engine, and will respond to typical SBC hop-ups (like mine - it responded!)
Con - it's a small-bore 305, which will limit the full potential of those mods. The best bet is to just put a 350 in it, especially if the 305 needs major work in the bottom end.
Pro - it's probably reasonably priced.
Con - it'll take a lot of money to bring up to today's standards.
