question about 83 z28
how much is to much of a carb for a 83 z28 indy pace car edition camaro? im about to buy one but it has way to much carb on it now i think its has a 650-700cfm holley carb that floods it bad also is there anything special about the indy editions?

You sure about that year? I thought the Pace Car was an '82.
If the car is truly "flooding", it's not the size of the carb that's causing the problem, but either condition or tuning. The stock q-jet was "too much" carb for a 305, but that doesn't mean they cause "flooding".
Generally speaking, a 550 cfm carb is big enough for an otherwise unmodified 305. A 600 or 650 will handle the typical modified 305. A q-jet can easily flow over 750 cfm.
