q jet not responding...to mixture settings

q jet not responding...to mixture settings

hey guys... i can turn my idle mixtures on my 78 q jet.....with no response....the car runs like its got a HUGE cam in it....rough idle.......i can tighten the screws closed... AND THE CAR STILL RUNS with no response....i've just rebuilt the carb...it was doing that before.........i look down the front bore and i can see gas spraying inside of the little venturi?? the little tubes sticking up.......if i look at the fuel vent.. i can see gas really up high.....it just started again............................... problebly fooding ...I JUST REBUILT THE THING.. it was fine.. and now its acting up again with the same problem..

Sounds like your float level is too high.

well....your partially right.....after i did the rebuild i hooked up the fuel line... duh..............but...i'm not running a filter in the carb..just an inline.. soo... when i pushed the rubber hose onto the jagged pipe that goes into the carb...a piece of rubber came off ..and loged between the seet and needle...
