Opinions on Gumout...
Hi guys,
I was just wondering what you guys thought of using gumout on our carbs? I've used it on the carb of my 307 in my 84 Delta 88, and it seems to work fine. I figured I'd use some on the firebird just to keep the linkage nice and loose, and keep the plates clean. Do you think using it makes any difference, or is it just a useless or harmful chemical?
Thanks,
Steve

I like to keep my carbs clean. Just make sure you aren't using a lot of it and getting alot inside the engine when it isn't running. Also, i don't think you want to use it too often, i've heard that it can lead to plug fouling, and certainly it can probably wash down the cylinder walls and get into the oil that way as well.

dont use gumout....use berkible 2+2 gum cutter....you may think the gumout works fine. but just find anything gunky...spray w/ gumout...see how it looks. then spray it with berkible...and see how it REALLY looks
