What is going wrong?

Ok here's the deal. I've got the engine in my sig. with a Holley 4160 vac secondary with a metering plate in the secondaries. I have an intellitronix a/f gauge to track my mixture. Yes, I know the o2 sensor is only accurate approaching 14.7 but thats not the point. When I accelerate wot and shift into second the engine immediately goes lean but, only during the shift. When it hits second it recovers. I think it may be because the power valve closes then but there is no load on the engine during the shift so the jets should have no problem compensating for the closing p/v. Could it be that my secondary jets are lean? I also have a vacuum gauge so I can see the p/v opening point and if I accelerate moderatly to the opening point there is no lean out like if my jets were lean. I appreciate any help.
