? on switching from a sec metering plate w/o jets to a standard plate w/ jets
I've got a Holley 3310, which is a 750 vac sec carb w/ the metering plate for the secondaries. I've also got a old 650 dblpmpr that's wasted that has the standard secondary metering block w/ jets. Is there anything stopping me from just swapping the 650s metering block w/ jets onto the 3310? I've seen little kits for sale to do this, are they just the standard metering block or is there something special required?
I'm just thinking I could probably tune this carb better for my engine by screwing around w/ the jets for the secondaries instead of trusting whatever the stock crap is setup for.
BTW, how many sizes larger do you go on the rear jets than the front jets? On average of course, just wanted somewhere to start.

They both should have center-hung float bowls, so hopefully a transfer tube won't be an issue. The only problem I could forsee is the accel pump from the DP not being used (not really a problem...)
I usually end up with my secondary jets 2 - 4 above the primary jets. It would be better to road tune it rather than take my word for it.

I think the accelerator pump passage will be no problem. I got on of the 4160/4150 conversion kits and the passage is cast in but not drilled. Definately road tune the carb though. If you give me the numbers off the plate I can look them up and tell you the equivalent jet size so you know where to start.

you need the metering block and the bolts from the 4777. use the 3310 fuel bowels. you will need a DP fuel line. and you will need regular DP metering block gasket.

You need to take out the power valve and install a power valve plug.
