Fuel filter question!!
i read somewhere that taking the filter out of the Q-jet and replacing it with an in'line fuel filter is more efficient. is this a smart thing to do? or should i just keep the filter in the carb?

"Efficient" can mean more than one thing. The in-carb filter is fine for feeding the carb, if that's the question. The in-line will have more dirt-holding capacity, but that's its only real advantage.
When you get into the big horsepower territory (like >400 HP), then the in-line can be helpful to maintain adequate flow.
FWIW, on Holleys, they want you to use both the in-carb screens and an in-line filter.
