Egr

ok iv got a question bout somehting going to the EGR....right behind the EGR on the passenger side is a thing that has a 2 wire electrical plug going to it, then out of that is 2 vacume lines. 1 goes to the carb. the 2nd goes to the EGR itself. it appers that a vacume tube connects to the back of it as well.. but im not sure. So thats my question....is there an additional tube connecting to the back of this? what is it coming from??I figured id look at my moms carbed 305 chevy caprice (86') but it does not have a tube goin to the back.....but mine has a clamp type thing on it......please help!

The fitting without anything attached should be a vent. When the EGR is no longer needed, the vacuum is released via that vent.
