Jester, I need some help

I was curious what all you had to do to put a mechanical pump on your car. I have heard by using the electric pump thats in the tank, that it's going to be hard getting the fuel pressure to drop low enough for the carb. I would also rather have the fuel pump on the block to keep from ever having to drop the damn tank again if it was to go out again. What all should I get to make this job as painless as possible? I have the beer already, so what's next ......

I ended up having to skip the mechanical pump idea and go repace the intank pump. My cam has no lobe for the fuel pump %^%^%^%^>. The pump I'm running is for the 350 vortec trucks, it flows alot more than the stock TBI pump. I also have a Barry Grant 3 port AFPR that lets me regulate the pressure as low as I need.
