Differences Between Carter and Edelbock

what are the differences between carter and edelbrock Carbs? Is there any? TIA

I've never heard anything conclusive saying that there were any differences, so I would say no. Only thing I can come up with is that Carter offers some CFMs that Edelbrock doesn't offer, and visa versa.

Edelbrock simply takes a Carter AFB and dolls it up a bit... so it's nothing more than a slightly altered Carter, chosen for its linkage.

The reason they are the same is because Carter had gone out of business for a while and Edelbrock bought the patent (from what I understand) and started making them again. When they started selling Carter made a comeback and now we have 2 companies selling the same carbs (much like the time Crager bought out Weld and forced Weld out of business for several years and when they came back the 2 companies are making the same wheel....lol.)
