Keep my Q-jet, or switch to Holley??
i have a non CC Qjet on my 350 right now, and it's starting to give me problems. I have a holley 650 carb just sitting in my garage doing nothing and i was thinking about cleaning it up and slapping it on there, but it might need a rebuild. Assuming both carbs need to be rebuilt, which one should i put the time into?
if this is too vague, just say so, and ill try to go into better detail, but i have to go to work now so...

Yes the question is a little too vague, but lets see what we can suggest. Why is the
Holley sitting in a box in the garage? Is it new, or did someone pull it off their car because it was FUBAR? That would be a good starting point. Second, what is going on with you q-jet? What model Holley is it and is it vac or mec secondaries? Do you have an auto or manual tranny?
IMO, Holleys are easier in most cases to rebuild the q-jets are. I am not convinced they hold their tune as well as a q-jet does, but they are easy to tune in comparison. Ed Maher and Damon are very good at q-jet stuff (I bet they are good at Holleys too). Read the articles they wrote for some added info to help your choice.
I replaced my ccQ-jet with a Holley 750vac a few months ago and it was not a simple straightforward thing. Yours may be easier or not if your Holley is a single bowl vs my dual bowl, and considering if you have EGR stuff in the way and all.

hey sorry for the delay,
anyway the carb came off a Nova I'm restoring. Its just sitting there on the engine in the garage. The Nova isn't going anywhere for a LOOOONNGG time, so i thought why not? it worked fine when i pulled the motor. The Qjet is having choke problems, i think the whole thing is gonna need a rebuild (it Mechanical BTW), and i dont exactly know what im doing when it comes to this, so i thought id just use the Holley, does this help any???
