Holley vs Edelbrock

I have an LG4 engine and my q-jet has pretty much gone to crap and i'm now looking to buy a new carb and i still do have emissions here in vegas and i was wondering what would be the better performing carb, the 600 cfm edelbrock performer or the holley 600 cfm, and would they work good with the stock manifold??? Thanks for your help.

I don't believe either will work well on top of the stock manifold. The stock QJet manifold has a 4-hole opening that ONLY matches up to the throttle plates of the QJet. You can get an adapter plate, I'm sure, but it probably won't work very well.

In any case, if you have emissions the old electronic QJet is your only choice. Anything else will make you emissions illegal if you have a visual underhood inspection in your state. There are NO direct replacements for the computer controlled QJet.
