Milling choke tower on Holley 3310...?

Can I remove the tower with a Dremel tool or saw or does it really have to be milled off? I am hoping to improve airflow since I'm using a drop base aircleaner to clear stock hood and I think my high RPM power may be suffering.

If you are that worried about it get one of the new K&N filter lids.

I agree that a K&N lid should help. Now can I remove the choke tower myself or do I need a machinist to do it?

You can remove it yourself. I used a dremel..didn't take very long. I've seen dyno tests where milling the choke tower gained I think it was 9hp.

I think milling the choke tower may have little affect if you have a tall aircleaner. However I am using a drop base air cleaner and a 3" tall element for hood clearance. Between the air cleaner lid and the top of the choke tower there is only about an 1-1.5 inches of clearance. It's not on the top of my priority list I was just curious.
