Fuel pump? Carb?
On my trans am, i recently got it running back up again after my electronics were all shorted out by that little metal piece on the bottom of the cap. Anyway, when I got the car back what did I do first, I floored it of course. Did it work right, no. The tach hit 3,000 and just redlined, staying there. I can keep my foot down for like three-four seconds and it just stays there. As I let my foot off little by little it starts taking off. I took it to a shop and the guy there said it was probably the fuel pump because the engine would pop. He said it would pop cause it was running lean. He said it could be the carb or the gas tank pressure though too. I just wanted to see if anyone has heard of this before, I haven't. Anything would be appreciated, thanks.
