What is a good carb to use w/ a 350
I am putting a carbed 350 in my berlinetta, i am just curious as to what carbs you guys prefer. i want something somewhat on a budget, not a speed demon, but i have decided against the q-jet cuz it is really shot to crap and i decided i dont want to mess with it. i also would like to get fair gas mileage, similar to a q-jet, but something better. thanks
What have you done to the 350?Does it have exhaust? What gear ratio do you have?

it is gonna be a 350 with around 320 horses. headers, vortech heads (not aluminum), performer intake for vortech's, probably stock gears for a while, real dual exhaust with dual flows, open element filter, and a lot more i cant think of right now. it is kind of on the drawing board, i am perfecting what i should do with it to get the most for my money, that is why i am on here lol. stock my 82 had a weak 305, i wanna blow people's doors off and leave em wondering "that was a 305 with 145 horsepower?" hehe

I just snagged a 625 cfm Road demon for my Vortec (note there is no h, VortecH makes superchargers) headed engine. Put it on tonight and did some prelim tuning, full report on how it drives tomorrow. I had a 750 holley that I never felt good about on there before... I found it interesting that the Demon came w/ nearly the exact settings as far as jets, accel pump shooter size, vac sec spring, etc right out of the box that I've spent a while tuning with and finally ended up with on my 750 holley...
CHP got 390 hp w/ the 625 cfm Road Demon on a Vortec headed motor... Cost is $299 in Jegs.

I vote HOlley. A 750 vac. secondaries would be a good choice. Also do away with the metering plate and go with a metering block on the secondary side. The metering block for the Holley is around 25.00$ It's very important to have the correct jets on your setup or else you will get ugly performance out of your engine. Tuning is everything.

Will install 3.73's later on and might go with a more aggresive cam.As of 4/01 added Hooker Headers,2.5inchpipes with 40 s. Flowmasters.Ignition upgrade include: MSD Coil and MSD module.

I'll have to agree with big 454 go with a 750 vacuum secondary not a mechanical. With those stock gears the vacuum secondary would run alot better.
