Shipping via Greyhound?

Has anyone ever shipped parts using Greyhound bus, or anyone know the process?

I have a fender that I am trying to ship, but with the box needing to be approx. 63x30x8 most places (fedex, ups, dhl, usps) either wont ship the size, or want an arm and a leg.

I've heard people mention you can put it under a greyhound bus, and it's pretty cheap. Do you have to buy a ticket? How does it work?

Any information appreciated.

I've not shipped anything, but have had things shipped to me via Greyhound/

Just take it to the ticket counter.

You can get a appx cost by going the the greyhound website, think the shipping is hidden under 'other services" or similar

I guess you need to pack the item as a regular shipment? Like I can't hand them just a fender, it has to be boxed or packaged in some way, right? As if I were shipping UPS, FedEx, or DHL?

DHL will ship that, I just shipped a complete interior including front and back seats today. One box was 72x30x24 and weighed 95 pounds, the other had the front seats, total cost was $95. I have also shipped through greyhound, you can calculate shipment cost from greyhound shipping and just take it on over and they will weigh it and you pay. Remember that greyhound has a limit on the size of packages so please check their website. I shipped a
t-top headliner over 2500 miles, got there in 2 days, unscathed, and was only $12.

Thanks, Iron Duke. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

Just one more question. I guess I would have to find out what time the bus is arriving, for the person to pick up the shipment? Or would the greyhound bus station in his area hold the package until he could get around to picking it up?

You would actually provide the phone number of the person who is receiving the package and they would call him to pick it up, so yes they hold it at the depot.

It doesn't need to be boxed. Sharp corners need cardboard/protective covering, the rest can be "saran wrapped".

I have shipped some things out via Greyhound. I have shipped front and rear bumper covers and sets of gfx. They were easy to deal with and cheap compared to what UPS or FedEx would charge.

I had some rims sent via Greyhound from Canada of all places REAL CHEAP and I got them in 3 days (Was sent from 3000 miles away) in great shape and I didn't even have to go to the ghetto bus station,They came to my house

I would suggest heavy duty bubble wrap for some big parts that cant be boxed like Bumpers,Fenders,Seats,Spoiler's .....Etc
