project89=scammer

Well fellas here is the story.

I met project89 (twinturbo89rs/boosted89rs) on another forum, www.clubna-t.com. I am a reputable member on multiple forums, Supraforums.com, my.is, isfanatics.com, clubna-t.com and clublexus.com. My word is bond and this isn't any story I am making up.

Back to the story..After talking to him a bit about getting some fuel rail machined out, I was reassured that he could get the job done and that he was a legit and a guy who would keep his word. The dealing started off on like the 1st or second week of September. I purchased a 2ft section of -8an from RMR and had it sent to the shop he claimed in worked in, Heads Up Industries. I also sent him an injector and stock fuel rail to measure up. He confirmed recieving everything the upcoming Monday. I checked on things once in awhile and he said everything was fine and he should be able to get it done ASAP, gave me a turn around time of 1 day so I figured the latest I would get it is 1-1 1/2 weeks. He gave me alot of excuses:
1. Track Day
2. He almost got the rails done but cut his finger.
3. A death on his gf's side.
4. Didn't have a car.
5. He daughter was sick.
etc.etc.
I have never met a "man" with so many excuses.

He failed to respond to any of my PMs on clubna-t.com. He claim that there were login issues, but his login activity log said otherwise. Not only was I keeping track of his login and his activities, the owner of the site confirmed that he logged in multiple times. After being MIA on clubnat I did a little research and was able to locate him on this forum, so we started communication again after not hearing from him for like 1-2 weeks. In his messages, thru here, he stated that the rails are done and he would ship it out tomorrow....tomorrow...etc., I am not sure how many times he said tomorrow. In one PM he would ship it out next day, 3 days later still never got anything. He also said he would bill me afterwards because of the circumstances. After getting stories after stories, I got fed up and wrote him an ultimatum on October 9th stating, send the items or I will go to authorities.

He dished back with I won't send anything until my gf get the paypal. 10mins after that I paypal him. He was MIA again for another 1 week. After not getting any tracking info after payment, a week later I placed a dispute. His gf responded back to the the dispute saying that the money was never paypalled back on Oct 9th, she just got it (Oct 14) and that she have been checking everyday for my payment. I called paypal and confirmed that the funds were immediately availabe on the 9th.

I was also told by Dave that items were packed, machined, and ready to go with his gf. His gf contradicted his statement by saying it was at the shop and she doesn't have it. And once she confirm payment, he will pack it and ship it out. The money is still sitting his gf's paypal account right now held by Paypal pending a resolution to this matter.

His latest PM still stated that he won't ship out anything until they get the funds not realizing I have gotten all of my stuff back.

This was how I was able to get my stuff back:
After talking to his uncle at heads up, he stated Dave does work there or have anything to do with the shop. I actually mentioned this to Dave a few times, he said his uncle doesn't know anything. That was kind of interesting since he was the only guy that ever picked up the phone the 10 times I called over there, and was the only guy that was able to help me out.

His uncle did confirm that there were packages that came in but he knew nothing about it. I explained to him the situation and he said he will try to find them and I can arrange UPS to pick it up. So I did, got it picked up this past Wed. and got it to my Thurs. Despite Dave's claim that i was machined, I got my OEM rail, injector and a BLANK extrusion (which was what was sent to him). He still insist that rails are DONE!

Re: project89=scammer

I may not now much about project89's history as a businessman I think its worth mentioning that he has a great knowledge of forced induction and turbos. the almost 900 posts since april are mostly helping other people figure out if forced induction is right for them and helping those who have chosen to go that route.

I'm not sure what you wanted him to do with your fuel rail and line but I just thought it should be mentioned he's not the worst person in the world. are you sure its project89 your talking about? one of the usernames you posted was twinturbo89rs but his camaro only has 1 turbo.

I am 100% sure that project89 is the individual. He use to go by twinturbo89rs and boosted89rs. From what other members on www.fullthrottlev6.com is saying, this isn't the first encounter with such a situation with him. Knowledge is one thing and his intentions are another.

Again, I am 100% sure it is him, I have exchanged private messages with him under that handle.

You are full of **** Dave. We both agreed that you would ship out the rails first. Why? Because for 3 weeks you gave me handful of excuses, and we both agreed that under the circumstances and the whole delay after delay, I was starting to distrust your intention. Feel free to get any screen shot you want, make sure it's all of them.

I made payment on October 9th, placed a dispute exactly one week later. I confirmed that the funds were available in your gf's account on October 9th. So stop making up stories man. I have never had anyone ever tell me that recieve a payment 3 days from the day I made payment via paypal. This would have been true if it was through a credit card, but the payment I made to your gf's account was made from my checking account aka instant payment.

Feel free to contact Mark over at Clubna-t.com, the owner of that site, he knows me personally. He can sure vouch for my honesty and sincerity.

Stop the BS and stop the stories. Be upfront, tell everyone the line of excuses you gave me and tell them why it took so long for the rails to get to me.

That's bs if you say your uncle knows **** about the shop, when he is the only one that was there. Just like one of your PM said, you know plenty of Supra guys at the track, you could easily sell the rail, that you insist had machined out. I guess you can pretty much assume that you could have easily sell the injectors and stock rails also?

Even messages via paypal from your own gf implicates you of wrong doing. In one message to me she stated, "she didn't realize you could have stoop so low".

I have every Private messages, sent to you and recieved by me.

I got my rails back, but it was not from him nor was the machine work performed. I had to arrange pick from his uncle's shop. The rails were not machined as agreed, which in other words, I sent him a fuel rail extrusion and got back a fuel rail extrusion. I had to go through alot of headaches to get them back. After more than a month of being MIA, and delays from his part, I got in touch with his uncle at Heads Up Industries. He found the parts in the shop, and packed them up for me.

Supposedly, during this same time, Dave (project89) stated that the items were in his possession, finished, packed and ready to ship. He told me this constantly over a period of 4 weeks.

What I didn't get Dave was why didn't it get ship the first time you said you were going to ship it, which was over a month back?

Wouldn't any payment made from your checking account be considered and "E-Check" and require 3 buisiness days for the funds to clear - and only AFTER the payment was accepted by the receiving party. IIRC only PayPal funded and Credit Card payments are instant payments.

PayPal might have confirmed that the payment was transfered on the 9th - but his GF was probably waiting to be sure the funds cleared. Since the transaction took place over a weekend the funds clearning on the 14th is not unreasonable.

Re: project89=scammer

Credit card payments are not instant. Paypment via paypal with your checking account is not a e-check, it's an automatic electronic transfer. The difference? An e-check is exactly what the word says, electronic check, which means if there is a deficit in your account the e-check can and will be returned for insufficient funds, with a automatic electronic transfer it will debit from the account regardless of available funds in the account or not.

I specifically ask paypal this question, whether the funds were available for bank transfer or not, from her part, on the 9th, the representative stated, "yes".

If anyone here want to confirm this, I am willing to paypal someone $1.00 the same way I paypalled Dave's gf.

Here are the funding options, from Paypal's site:
3.2 Default Funding Sources/ Ways to Pay. When you make a payment, PayPal will fund your transaction in this order:
  1. Balance
  2. Instant Transfer from your bank account
  3. PayPal Credit
  4. Debit card
  5. Credit card
  6. eCheck
I don't have a echeck account, only option a,b,d, and e.
Instant payment, means instant payment. Not sure whatelse it could mean.

Re: project89=scammer

I agree with a one thing, he seem to be a knowledgable person, he seems to know his stuff when it comes to camaro and turbo. But you really can't excuse his actions or welcome his way of doing business because of that. That is one thing I won't dispute.

There is only guy that I know of, on this forum, who has gone through the same deal. Not sure what the circumstances are and what was agreed upon but by talking to him, he still doesn't have his parts. I am referring to John from 60*, who is a paid sponsor on fullthrottlev6.com. On top of that there are members on ftv6 that are making statement that project89 has done this before.
