i agree with the shady seller/sale in general but im gonna say that for $150, it was a deal, i would pick that entire car apart and take every little part that might be good and shelf it and scrap the rest of whats not good. Its too bad scrap isnt high where you are, in MA that cars worth $250 in scrap value, i bet you could make $400 off it between small parts on ebay/craiglist etc and scrap value. If it has good metal you could get some cuts out of it for someone looking to restore floors/qtrs/etc (whatever is good of course). just my .02, good luck man.

I had a bad feeling about this guy too. He needed some help and I almost was going to let him use my engine hoist, but I was not going to leave it alone with him. He seemed polite when I talked with him and from what I could gather he was ex-military. But then he started talking about going to have to serve some jail time.

Just goes to show you that caution needs to be used with people you meet on the internet. So glad that I never gave him my address.

I would say that applies to anyone, not just the internet. You're more likely to meet a "bad person" in person than you are on the internet, particularly for more of the serious things.

The carpet was on the dash when it left, the wiring harness was not ****ed up like that and the chrome was on the doors. He misrepresenting everything and for $150 he's being a complete bitch.

You're a liar, and you know you are. If you weren't, you'de feel no need to "be the good guy" by trying to convince everyone here - particularly through PM's (like you did with me also). If you knew what you did was right and fair, you'de feel no need to argue about it because you know what you did was right... which you didn't. I've dealt with my fair share of people like you, and you ALL do the same thing.. first you lash out with anger like it's the other person's fault, and then you try and be the good citizen by throwing a BS apology so people throw sympathy at you.

Blue, you essentially forfeit your rights to complain about the car because you bought it and that right there is AN AGREEMENT of said property and the state/condition it's in whether implied or not. HOWEVER - the whole trip up there, as well as the title issues/misrepresentation is another matter because that comes down to dishonesty of the seller regardless if any money was actually exchanged because there is no other way of obtaining the information about it without physically going up there and looking.

Should he get a ban? Yeah, I think so. Misrepresentation of an object is fraudulent, on top of the fact that Missouri law requires the title to be transferred at the time of the sale.. so either way, via negligence or other - you made an illegal move(s) and that kind of thing should not be supported on this site.

& don't pull that **** about serving our country and all that crap. Nobody forced you into the military, and as far as I'm concerned - you're in it for a paycheck... not because we're being invaded. Doing that kind of thing is worse than playing a race card.

I'm going to have a mod lock the thread because after the threats I've received I told him that with me knowing who his employer is, his physical address, and full name, he will get in serious trouble with the pm's and texts I saved showing him threatening me. I told him that I'm going to drop it and if he acts out again he will be wishing he never bought the car to begin with. As far as I'm concerned I've made my point. OK, let me ask you this, from the pics he sent you did you believe you could buy a restorable car for that kind of money? What about when you were at his place to pick it up, i assume you saw it?? You could have stepped away. Anyone can see it's a total POS but what do you expect for $150. Over here I can just fill up my gas tank for that kind of money.

 

Honestly I had every intention of parting it out, title or not. It would have been easier to sell the bare shell with a title to someone wanting to build a car or swap over parts from a car they don't have a title to ( I know a kid on here that is local and is in this position).

Having said that, the questions I asked about the body condition and specifically asking about the front bumper because two photos he supplied showed different stories, he still said it wasn't damaged just that the paint was flaking. This was obviously false because when I got there, it had a hole big enough to fit a fetus through and the ground effect was broken also.

I asked about the condition of the car so I'd have a feel for what I can get out of the parts. When I got there I saw that most ofthe parts he said were good were destroyed, so yes I was pissed more that he lied than the fact that it was a pos. If I had known the true condition I could have found a more profitable parts car closer to my home.


Anyways, I'm done with this thread.

 

He made a mistake, and he's owning up to it. Saying he made threats to you is hear say unless you have the texts to proove that we should be legitimently concerned for our safety. He apologozied. I don't condone what he did, but I do not condem him either. He reacted badly at first, very badly, because he knew he messed up. But now he's acknowledged his wrong doing, appropriately, and like an adult, publicly. He deserves credit at least for doing that much.

damn man im sorry to hear about your losses.. i hope yall came to a agreement... i had a similar event with a so called ls1 rear end.. put it in my car and it ended up being a piece of **** and come to find out it was a lt1 rear with different gears than he said... so i got something totally different that didnt work... thats why from now on ima do my research before i buy anything... too many scammers and liars....
