Adjusting side rails and downstop

First of all....anyone ever adjusted their upstop/downstop??

Looks like adjusting the upstop will put more or less tension on the front half of the top. I guess the action is similar with downstop for the back half.

Also...it looks like the weather stripping retainers at the side rails can be adjusted to move more outside or inside. I get alot of air noise and thought that by pushing the siderails against the windows I could stop some of that.

ANyone whose made any of these adjustments got any tips??
