My car right now has a 700R auto tranny. I was thinking about about putting a 5spd tranny in and doing a swapp? How much would you guys estimate this would cost to have done at a shop including all the parts needed? If you have done this before are you happy with it. As for my GFX I got a one off a regular hardtop... made the cutt and it went on smooth as butter....thanks for the help on that one

 

Well, if your going to do it go with a T56. Should be under $2k

 

I'm in the middle of one right now. So far not bad at all. The only problem I have is, the project has turned into a total restoration instead of just a tranny swap. The T5-6 is neat, but I didn't feel it was worth it, so I went with a T5. I bought a parts car for $500 for all the swap parts. I'm selling the car for what I paid, there for it cost me nothing. If you count the other parts I bought of course it cost me several grand, but thats not the tranny's fault.
