buying and selling

alright guys, ive only had my car since november, but ive found the car ive wanted from the start. its a 91 camaro RS convertible. its that camaro green color with a black top, its got a 305TPI in it and the body is completely straight. the guy said that he wants 4000$ for it....it isnt in nearly perfect condition. here is whats wrong with it:
-paint on trunk is faded badly and needs to be reapainted
-needs new rear window, owner cut it out because he couldnt see, it turned all yellow
-has a rip in the drivers seat about the size of a dime
needs to be taken care of (cleaned inside and out)
he said he wants 4000 for it, but when i looked at kelly blue book, it said 2500

my car is up for sale right now for 3900obo and im thinking if i go tell him 3000 cash then maybe he will take it

the good part about this car is that i know im getting the car ive wanted for ever, i like the fact that it has leather interior, but im not the hugest fan of it cuz its gets hott, so ill be changing that to leather with tweed inserts. anyways, do you think about 3k is a good price for the car? thanx everyone

Check the history on that car

IIRC The camaro RS didn't come with a 305 TPI engine....

yea the RS's didn't come with TPI's so i'd def get that checked out. The engine code for the LB9 is F so make sure i believe the 8th digit is indeed an F to verify the existence of a TPI, unless it was dropped in there later on. Although KBB gives a list price of only 2500 try finding another vert in your area, you'll quickly realize that its not that easy to find one in decent shape. The car is only worth as much as you want to pay for it because it sounds like he will eventually get someone to buy it for 4k. I bought my car for 4300 with new top, tires, and paint and overall pretty good condition with just minor wiring issues that i've straightened out. Try 3k and work your way up from there, besides it can't hurt to try right.
