accurate value of 1989 GTA T/A convert????

Hey all, I own a 1992 firebird convert., but I have always wanted the more rare, 89 GTA T/A convert. I found one available recently, and I am not sure how to accurately gage the value of this particular car. There are no real price guides as far as I know on this model convert. It is in clean shape with 112000 miles on it. Needs some minor cosmetics, such as seat repairs, and a new window for the top. Runs good and looks good. How can I tell if it is a real GTA?? What do you think a good price would be to pay for this car??????? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!! Rob

Hawks has an 89 GTA 350 car for $8000. Go to that site and check it out. Seems worth it to me and comes with 17'' wheels.

Officially, they aren't worth anything because they aren't factory convertables. Only the 91/92 F-body verts are official.

But it IS rare, I've yet to see a convertable GTA in person. If its nice, and its a nice conversion then I'd say its worth a bit. Considering how few there really are out there.

Start off with 89 Iroc convertible, and go from there. You are going to have to decide what the car is worth beyond that. Usually the GTA's fetch a few more bucks than the Iroc's do, and then of course everyone that has a pre-91 GTA or TA vert thinks its a gold mine. I paid a little more than what I felt was reasonable for mine, but way below what the guy was asking.

You should get a look at the RPO list in the console, to see what the car really is.

Hi ya
I've done alotta looking as the owner of a 1989 350 TPI Formula... There are certainly GTAs and they are 'factory done as specified by the ASC sheets in the Stickies here.
I forget the total but with the 350 TPI, some 50 or so made in 1989. Of all ASC converts, I think the number is 400 to 500...can't recall specifically.
I paid $8,600 after talking down the seller. In good shape, close to $10,000 is about right. Compare to a 1984/85 factory Eldorado drop top... The price range can be higher there just because of Eldo's status and history.
Where I live, the luxury ones list higher then 80s sport cars. the GNX Buick or Aniiversary 89 Bird are two exceptions that may well list higher. The GN being a 1987 model
