Hi,

I took the car in for inspection today and it failed on emissions,one front tire and emergency brake. It failed on the low speed emissions

The emission readungs were as follow:-

Standard Current
HC(PPM) 120 196
CO (%) 0.67 0.28
CO2(%) 14.3
O2(%) 0.8
NOx(ppm) 907 1472
DILUTION(%) >6 14.6

What I have noticed is a broken component in the engine bay,I think its the air control valve.Could this be the problem?

That is the AIR control valve.

The AIR system pumps air into your catalytic converter and causes it to begin functioning sooner than if it were not present. After the car has been running for a while it should probably not matter...

How old is your Catalytic Converter? You can purchase a low restriction replacement for around 30 bucks and have it welded in for probably ten...

Where in Texas are you? If around Plano/Allen area, I know a mechanic that is great on emissions problems.
