Update on the rebirth..
Well 6 months later I'm still waiting to get my car back form the shop. I'm getting a good deal and he is doing it right so I can't complain. Should be going in for first primer this week. It has given me time to complete some projects I probably wouldn't have even been close to finishing, in no particular order:
99% of my front C5 brake swap parts are here
4th gen 3.23 disc rear with fresh brakes and paint
Finally repainted and repolished my 17" 3-piece crosslace rims
Custom driving/parking light blackout made
Taillights and side markers polished
Skinned the cat (stripped the vinyl off the tonneau cover, see pic)
The 4thgen door panels don't have enough room for the lower retractor, so I had a 4-point harness bar made that attaches to the factory shoulder points.
Still have a bunch of things left to do. Exterior I just have to order my new decals and assemble everything from the fenders back.
Interior is going to probably take as long as the body work. Graphite 4th gen dash, console, and a-pillars. Tan/graphite 4th gen door panels. Possibly tan/graphite 4thgen sill plates and kicks. I've got to modify the rear speaker grills to match the front graphite ones.
And since there will be no other black pieces, I'm covering the tonneau cover, harness bar, seatbelt shoulder covers, and upper windshield latch trim in matching graphite vinyl.
I'll be posting regular updates as it comes together, but if you are interested in any details, search my user name as I've posted about a lot of the mods in other forums.
Here's the harness bar, just a quick coat of paint to prevent rust, it will be covered by vinyl in the end.

And here's a pic of the skinned cat. FYI, the vinyl covered piece is made out of very thin fiberglass. It will come off the actual tonneau cover with enough gentle prying. The vinyl had a few wear spots and actually came off the board pretty easily. Only one small damage area near where the seatbelt covers meet up with it. All ready repaired and it's waiting for the graphite vinyl to come in.
