toneau cover removal

toneau cover removal
can someone pass along any info on removing the plastic covers that are on the toneau covers themselfs,I want to put a new protecter on my toneau,but not sure how to remove the plastic cover from the toneau itself there dont seem to be any fasteners that i can see,does the piece snap on?is it glued on or what,any info is appreciated much thanks,jim 91 z28 vert 305 tpi 5 spd

It's glued and it's very brittle fiberglass. I was lucky enough to have a poorly reglued one and got mine off. Easiest way is to start where the cover meets the seatbelts in the front. Jus ttry to wedge your fingers in between and it should start to pop off. Then just work it around.
That said, are you sure you need to take it off to put the new protecter on? Your looking at a lot of work to get it off, then any repairs if you crack it, then get the glue off both sides, and them regluing it. I was under the impression the plastic just went around the outside edge..
