Value of a 1991 Z-28 Vert.
Hello all,
I bought a 1991 Z-28 Convertable that needed a little work and now I am realizing I need something a little more practible for my sales job. I am just too busy to keep this car a daily driver.
Any Idea what these cars are worth now in 2005??
I sold my 1989 Iroc Z convertable in 2002 for $5,400.00
The paint was a little faded, new suspension, new top and interior, rebuilt front end, lowered w/centerlines, 275/40 245/40/17's and a very Tired 305Tpi w/125K. A buyer flew in from Colorado just to get it.
My present 1991 Z-28 convertable: Much nicer car....White with grey leather, 305Tpi, 700R4, 113K original miles (carfaxed)
I installed a new GM nose, bottom spoiler/ground effect piece and painted it plus fixed the scratched rear bumper, new shocks and struts, new cloth top, new upholstery (leather) fixed the passenger window motor, new drivers side seat belt assy.
Just finished new 19lb Ford Motor Sports injector install, runs perfect now. No frame or other body damage (original body)
All stock, good paint looks nice I will post a photo soon.
Any Idea what I should ask??
$6250.00??? too much??
Thanks

Sorry. I know that is no help but the Blue Book is somewhat worthless in my opinion but you can get an idea what what the market will bear at the retail/private party level.
Have you looked up the value on your car here?
Mine came in at $4700 - Retail, $3750 Private Party. I consider it in excellent condition and that amount is an insult to the receipts I have on it from the last year. I have it insured for 7500 based on the work done on it and the difficulty I would have replacing it. That said, your price may not be that unreasonable.
Welcome to the forum for however long you stay.

Thanks Cadillac,
Yes I checked w/KBB and I use NADA also. I came out with $5,000-$5,500. These cars are either very rare or no one ever drives them around here. I never see convertables. I am speaking of the 1991-1992 Camaro years because they are my personal favorite. I felt because of the rarity it may be worth more.
I see an occasional 1987-1990 IROC Z vert and there are 2 1991-1992 Trans Am verts out my way I have seen.

Maybe this will help you:
SEThirdgen.org - Production Numbers
Mine is one of 989.
Yours is one of 3203.
It's definitely a selling point.

Wow, I didn't really realize how rare these cars were. I was going to sell mine this year, but now I'm thinking I'll hang on to it as an investment. I wonder out of those numbers how many are still on the road and not rotting in a junkyard?
