Are they worth it? Is the build quality as good as ASCs? What's different about them? Whats good? Whats not good?

Depends on what you want. I like the car because it is unique and always draws a crowd any where I go. My car is an 84 with less than 30K miles on her. She was appraised at just over $20,000.

Yes and no. The company has not carried parts for this car since the last one rolled out back in '85. Many of the parts are factory GM that are reused in the conversion. Some parts like the seals would have to be made. The top is constucted of a hard fiberglass top section with soft side curtains and a plastic rear window. I would have to say that she is fairly weather tight(I don't drive mine much with the top up). Some things are not as good as the ASC cars. The looks of the car with the top down is better with the my car than the ASC, but with the top up, the ASC looks much better. The chassis stiffness is pretty good. Not much cowl shake but there is some flexing.

If you are looking for a daily driver that is easy to operate the top and care free, don't buy one of these. If you are looking for something that is fun, unique, and more of a weekender or show car, than you might consider one of these.

my 85 seems to be in pretty good shape for a car with 213,000 miles on it. i used to use it as a dialy driver until a couple years ago the top got a tear in it and the plastic rear window cracked. and now i just use it for top down days. I myself have often wondered what its worth but they arent listed in any blue books anywhere. half the fun of owning the car was researching where it came from because i bought it form somebody that knew nothing about it. I ran a report from PHS and they said it was assembled in oct 84 and there is another build tag from PASS CAR with the conversion date of July of 85.
