87 camaro convertible power trunk motor

I am looking for a power pull down motor for my 87 camaro CONVERTIBLE. They are different from the coupe pull down motors. Can anyone help?
Does anyone have an 87 camaro convertible for sale?

The pull-down motor for a 1987-91 convertible is the same as for a 1986-91 coupe. The one on a 'vert will have a manual release, where a coupe will sometimes have the optional solenoid release. However it is a simple matter to remove the 10mm screw and swap them. It is also possible to add a switch and relay and wire up the solenoid release onto your convertible.

1991 model year had two versions of pull-down motor. My comments above are based on the early 91 version of each.

Thank you for the info, but I thought there is some sort of safety something built especially in the convertible trunk motor which doesn't allow you to open trunk while, and or, if your rear top hatch is open? To prevent damage to hatch. Am I mistaken?
Also....I just bought an 88 LT vert w/ 46K actual miles.

Yes that is correct. If the trunk solenoid is correctly wired, it won't release if the tonneau is open. Also the tonneau solenoid won't pop the tonneau open if the trunk is already open. Of course nothng prevents you from being stupid and manually opening either the trunk when tonneau is ajar (by using a key) or tonneau when trunk is open (by pulling the hidden emergency release cables on each side). They both occupy the same real estate when open, so using common sense is still required if you're doing it manually.

I need trunk release mechanism. #1660004-9(new), 20614886(old) with option (A90). Anybody know where I can get it??
Also, I have a brand new top for an 87 vert. It was installed onto car but is the wrong one and doesn't fit correctly. I am going to sell it and buy another one, because the person it was bought from is claiming it wasn't his fault because his supplier said it was the right one and to make a long story short he's making it a long drawn out, time wasting, fiasco to try to return it for a refund, so I am saying forget it and going to sell it. Anyone interested, let me know, make me an offer. I paid $500 and it has only been on the car a month. My email address is turner_chet@yahoo.com
