Here are some from my 1988 IROC. Hope they might help. If you need some thing specific I can get a picture of it.

Attached are some pictures of the side panels showing the cutouts for the trunk hinges and supports. Sorry, but I didn't get any with them out of the trunk. Hopefully these will help you out though.

Thanks guys for the comments on the car!

Chuck

Left side pictures attached here. Right side will be in second post.

Thanks Chuck,

I bought a used set of panels since my '92 came with molded
carpet panels. The drivers side doesn't want to fit very well.
The forward portion of the lid wants to stay open.

Does the lock seem to help? I took the latch portion out
since my panel didn't come with a key.

Thanks again.

That door on the stowage compartment is pretty cheesy, as I am sure you have found. Mine fits OK and I am sure the latch helps but it is not exactly square in the openning. I would think you could find a similar latch/lock that would work.

What do the electrical contacts power?

I don't have them on my '92.

Could they power an amp that is mounted on the underside of the deck lid?

The contacts are for the center brake lights on the spoiler.

I just bought a Conert, where can I get this piece, is it a standard extrusion or is it a specialty piece?

What I am talking about is the Black piece that attaches to the cut edge of the interior panel.

Actually the contacts were originally used for the rear window wiper that was an option thru 1986. When the center brake light was re-located to under the spoiler on the Firebirds and in the spoiler on the Camaros in 1987 they used the same contacts for that. When they went back to the third brake light on top of the rear window in 1991 the contacts were no longer needed, it also lowered production costs slightly. I believe one of the things that may have contributed to the 87-90 design was the introduction of the convertibles in 1987.

random trivia:
in the early 87 model year ASC verts, the rear 3rd brake light was a FORD truck unit.. later, in 87 (the year) the DOT approved chevys spoiler 3rd brake light lense, and all verts started using it... and it magiclly appeared on the coupes from then on to..
also, whoever picked the bulbs for that lense should be shot.. total PITA to find.. and replacements get too hot.... i ended up modding mine to be LED based. heh.

They actually sanded off the Ford Emblem IIRC...

Did the Firebird and Camaro use the same Lens from 87-89? What I do not understand is why ASC did not use the stock Lens assy for the Firebirds, they used a cut wing from the Firbirds, why not use the lens assy too...

The 91-92s got the camaro brake light and ducktail-esque spoiler. The DOT code on my brake light even says 87.
