Convertible Body Panels
Just purchased a Purple Haze 1992 RS Convertible. I need a few body panels but have questions. The RH Pass quarter panel has been patched/rigged sometime in the past-can I use a quarter panel skin from any 82-92 hardtop/Ttop car? I also need a LH Driver fender. The info I'm finding is that the 91-92 fenders are a different part# than the 82-90? Can I use an older fender on my 92? Also I've got a few spots rust on the bottom side of the car. I've seen some of the guys use the POR-15. Does this work? I'll try to get some pics up later. I also need to decide what to do with my 87 Iroc now.

You can take a rear fender off any other 3rd gen. The verts were orginally hardtops, and converted. So the panels are the same. May have to make a few minor mods like they did when they were converted.
Your info on front fenders is correct. You can make a pre90 fender work, you just have to cut a little slit in it for the front gfx to match. This is whats on my 91.
por15 only helps prevent rust. If it already has rust spots, you have to remove them, patch it. Then cover it with por15. If the rust is there and you dont remove it, your just waisting time/product.
