IROC vert in 1/4?

I may take my vert to the track tomorrow. I gave this some thaught and decided to ask the group. What should/ would a bone stock IROC vert with a 305 TPI run in the 1/4??? My guess would be high 15's/low 16's. What do the rest of you think?? If youve been with a vert, what did you run, and stock or any mods?

Re: IROC vert in 1/4?

That sounds reasonable with an automatic. I did run 14.1 with my 92 Z28 305 TPI 5spd. I did completely clean up/hog out the the intake, runner and plenum, aluminum driveshaft and a Centerforce Clutch. Standard stuff like ice the plenum before rounds and 1/4 tank of fuel or less. I had to be really hard on the clutch/tranny to achieve that time but Maryland Intl Raceway was a nice, sticky track. Good luck.

Re: IROC vert in 1/4?

My bet is mid-to-low 15's for your car. I did a 16.4 best with my LO3 with headers and a 2.73 peg leg. With the 3.27 posi I have in my garage now, with that motor I might break into the 15's.

Always fun trying.

Oh, the embarassment.

Re: IROC vert in 1/4?

The only thing I have over stock is 3.73 gear with an auburn posi (it had a 2.73 stock posi). The rest of the car is 100% stock. I plan on just holdin it to the floor and let it shift itself

My 350 TPI/auto vert (all stock) ran a 14.9 but I figure with a proper tuneup and work on my 60', it would have ran at least a 14.7 or better.

Re: IROC vert in 1/4?

I made it to the track today. With a full tank of gas, I ran a 15.92 @ 84.97 mph. 60 ft. was a 2.27. Not too shabby for a stock IROC convertible
