i was needing some opinions about selling my convertible. you can see in the pics that it has been hit do you think if i went a head and spent the money to paint it, it wouldnt be much since my brother is a painter and all that would cost is supplies. would be worth it if i just wanted to sell it? thanks for any help given.Thumbnails

Re: i have a ?

Most likely, people will pay good money for a car they can get in and just drive. Not have to take to the body shop from your driveway. That is my opinion if you wanted top dollar for your vert, otherwise you can reference your brother for the job to the buyer, taking what it's worth and subracting out an "estimate" from your brother he wanted to do that. Other than that there are a couple things that need to be adjusted and played with on the body and interior so it's iffy, find out how much it would cost first for parts i guess.

it would be worth it, no doubt, (only damage is front fender, bumper cover, and hood, right?) what year is that Z28, 91 or 92?

you do plan on repairing the damage before painting correct? You didn't specify that, but I assume you would. The question you're asking is pretty much up to you at this point.Fixing the car would def. make it easier to sell, but if you're thinking of putting a pricetag on that car as is for$3500 or more,I think you'll be sitting on it for awhile.

Re: i have a ?

I was talking about the knot by the rear tail light and the front passenger fender a lil outta wack (maybe just angle, idk), but if your looking to get only give or take $3500 for it, check the market, i would sell it as is if your going that cheap. Then again i know on another thread they were talking 7-10+ grand on thier verts and i know a lot of people are looking for that 91-92 body and especially a vert, they are on demand so it's really up to you what range you want!

Re: i have a ?

THere are a few things that I see in the pictures.
1) the interior need a cleaning, and a little touch up, for example there is a little rust on the emergency brake handle, By touching little things up like that go a long way.
2) A paint job can be a scare tactic for some people, yeah it looks good but what is it hiding... I never buy a car with a fresh paint job, I would prefer a car with faded original paint with door dings than a straight car that might be rusted out. If you are going to paint the car take pictures along the way so that any potential buyer can see what was really there and know that it is not a rustbucket.
3) Depending on your milage $3500 for a 91/92 Z28 is on the low end from what I have seen. A perfect 50K mile car would be worth around $7000 & up to the right person. Looking at the pix I would assume that the car has around 100K on it.

4) this is the WRONG time of year to be selling a convertible, if you can wait unti Spring, you will get more.
