As much as your willing to pay.

I have seen them go for $14,000 on ebay... typically speaking if the car is clean, has no rust, needs very little attention anywhere from 8K to 16K. Honestly, the miles are not low but rather average for a collectible of its age. The miles are low for a daily driver tho so it would depend on what you want to do with the car.

Unfortunately they are an unusual car in some regards, they are made by Autoform, but they made alot of them, about 600 from some sources... From what I understand they were offered only through dealerships as a conversion and they seem to be desirable to some extent. The parts will be harder to find than an ASC convertible...

Re: 1985 Trans Am Roadster, 305 tpi

thanks for the reply, john
im gonna go see the car tomorrow in person, and possibly make him an offer. i've never seen an Auto Form convertible in person, so i'm wondering what i should look for, as far as condition, wear and tear ect.
i know that these cars are rare, but i thought that the ones that had the tuned port injection were more rare.
I know if i dont buy this trans am now, it'll be alot harder to come by in the future, and cost more.
i'll let you all know if i buy it or not.
thanks ivan

Re: 1985 Trans Am Roadster, 305 tpi

I want to think that Autoform did the conversions from 1983 thru 1986. They may have done some in 1987 but I have never seen any. Also I can not recall many in 1986 either. The TPI would be unusual as it would have een offered only a few years, so that makes sence.

Like any other car its a hit or miss, but the fact that many of them are selling for pretty good money tells me that they have a lot of potential.

As for what to look for.. your typical wear & tear items, the break pedal, rust around the rear fenders, floor pan etc. When I bought my 98 I went to check to see if the muffler was in fact an original GM one.
