Need critical part for family member

Car: 88 IROC Z Vert CZA3
Engine: LB9 5.0 tpi
Transmission: MM5 5 spd

Need critical TOP FRAME part for family member
My 1988 IROC Vert has been a part of my family for 20 years and I screwed up and broke it. The passenger side main pivot piece of the top frame snapped. It appears to be cast aluminum - guess you guys know. I've been looking at a replacement (no luck so far) or a repair. As far as repair, the best plan to date is to braze and drill/anchor a piece of alum flat bar to each side in the recesses. I would appreciate any ideas you may have.

I am going to hold off buying a whole frame due to shipping cost.
I broke mine when folding it down from the driver's side- it bound on the passenger side and like an idiot I gave a litte pressure and it snapped.
