Are you limited in production? I want one but can't afford one right at this moment. I'd say sometime in the next 2-3 months I would buy one.

Re: Vinyl wear stickers finally done.
I can get them done whenever. I do have to do these in runs though I can't do one at a time but I am using my funds to have quite a few done. Also will be looking into selling these to other vendors to eliminate so many task on my part so I can move onto the next project. So yes they will be available but if I end up selling vendor only the price would probably slightly jump through them. I will be talking with a local business about reproducing the top header trim pieces also. Hopefully sometime this week but not a guarantee on that though. The decal that I am currently sending out are hand cut around the decal (decal is computer cut then I am trimming around the decal because the sheet of vinyl is huge and they are definitely hard to see because of the crystal clear vinyl so when you receive them they will be in the rough shape of the decal so it is easier to apply. After we get some programming errors resolved the cutter will be perforating the backing for me so it will be a pop out decal which will make it look alot more professional. Appearence is not really critical on my part though (although it helps.)it is the functionality of it. These will fit correctly on all 86-92 ASC conversions. And the NOS does not include the small side decals or at least mine didn't and the years really affected the quality of the NOS decals (mine was yellow and orange when I received from modern day muscle. Sorry this is so long. If you made it through all of it Thanks

I'm in the process of doing bodywork/paint.
I will most likely need one soon.
Thanks,

Is the material you use actually urethane film? What thickness are you using?
VentureShield
ventureshield.com is a company that offers "invisible" bras and bumper protection made with urethane film which is 8 mils thick. Do you use the same material? They do not have the convertible top protection you are offering.

no the stuff I use is oracal 851 it's an auto grade film. crystal clear this is only 2 mil thick which is why when mine are installed they are nearly invisible. No one else carries this decal. You will not wear through this film anytime soon it's a premium cast and it has a really good adhesive. after this stuff sets it's there to stay. this is an 8 year rated vinyl which the oem was a 5 year. also the temp range is -58 F to 230 F so yeah this stuff will hold up. I researched quite a bit of different materials before I picked this.

anybody else need one of these? I haven't had any time to actually mess with them any more as far as getting a way to mass produce these. I am still just cutting around the decals.

Yeah, I'm considering getting me one of these. My top has only stuck once....but the black stain still lingers. Another "Claybaring" oughta take care of it, though. Refresh my memory...what comes with the 'kit', and is the price still the same?

John, the Vinyl wear sticker is awesome, really thin, I am going to attach some pictures, it is really hard to see, but it is there doing it's job saving my paint, thanks again for taking the time and making this for us.

I will add some positive feedback on this product as well. I saw Jeff's convertible at a cruise with our club last weekend and his decal looks GREAT. I didn't even notice it was there until I ran my finger along the tonneu cover. You can't see it unless you're really looking for it, and it does it's job!
What kind of packaging are these being shipped in? I can't get the car repainted for a while, but I don't want to miss out on these. I'd hate to buy one and it sit in a box or get crushed/bent between now and when the car gets painted though...

I started shipping them in a priority mail triangle tube they are pretty sturdy and give the decal more room.

yes I am still getting them made. only real advice on getting th eold one off is go slow and keep moving your fingers forward until it is off if you try to just hold the end and pull it off it will rip apart.

I haven't had any made in a little while but I can talk to my vinyl guy later this week and as long as he's not extremely busy he can do them. I might have one more left from the last ones though I will check and either way yes they will still be the same price.

How difficult are these to apply by yourself. I suppose as with anything you can get bubbles under them as you apply one? Any tips so one were not to ruin one?

Re: Vinyl wear stickers finally done.
Honestly if you can apply window tint and be satisfied with the result you can do these the only cutting involved is minor trimming if any just to get it how you want it. just get a cheap spray bottle and put in a tablespoon of dish soap and fill up with warm water and there is your installation lubricant. spray down where it goes as long as it is wet underneath the decal can be positioned then use a credit card wrapped with a microfiber cloth or a small nylon squgee to get all the air bubbles out from underneath. Then when you have all the bubbles gone from under it let it dry completely and give the adhesive time to set completely (I normally let it set overnihght. Then you are finished. Let me know if you have any other questions by the way the only real tip I can give applies to all I do take your time and make sure you like the way the outcome is looking before going on

Re: Vinyl wear stickers finally done.
yhis is premium cast vinyl it is only 2 mil without backing and adhesivewhich is alot thinner than oem but my vinyl guy has used it alot for quite a few things and it has held up great. It has a 2 year shelf life and is rated for 12 years after it has been applied and is made for outside conditions -58F-230F noted with no shrinkage or adhesive problems. And yes I have a couple left 2 or 3 I will more than likely get some more made just not sure when.

Re: Vinyl wear stickers finally done.
!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I orderd it last week, got it on saturday and the box was crushed and the decal inside was all bent up and had creases all over it. I have emailed jstoltz a few times, and sent him pictures, and have not heard back, I hope he replies ASAP and resolves this. I can not use it in this condition and i need to put it on asap as it's getting hot here in az, and i can not afford to ruin my brand new paint job.

I have bought from him before and had no problems. Maybe some sort of trouble. I would like a set now.
