Latch swap question
I am swapping the latches on my 88 'vert to a set I snagged off a 92 'vert at the junkyard awhile back.
I knocked out the old rivets and got the brackets off in one piece.
I was wondering what you guys have used to mount the new ones to the car?
Can I get away with just bolts, or will I have to find a set of rivets?
If anyone needs a set of the 88 style latches, send me a PM.
thanks

Re: Latch swap question
I haven't swapped out the latches on mine, but I'm just curious as to the differences? Are you swapping them out because the newer ones look better or perform better? Do you have any pics?
If you removed rivets I would replace them with new rivets. I just ordered a kit from Hawks to convert my 88's 5th bow pull down (electric motor) to the 92 manual style. The screw portion mounted on the bow is attached with rivets and when I replace it with the newer style, I will use rivets. Just my

Re: Latch swap question
Mounting points are completely different. I'll even have to drill holes for the new rivets and/or bolts.
I'm swapping them because I picked up a new frame and top. Needed both, since my frame was tweaked and missing a piece or two. Plus the top was very worn and you couldn't see out of the back window anymore.
