i bought a trunk latch for my 91 rs convert have no idea how to make it functional, i also has wiring for trunk swith how would i hook that up. thanks

 

First we I need to know what style of 91 your car had and what style you bought. I can determine the first by your description of the hatch (trunk) hook. Is the loop on it made of bent round bar or is it made of stamped steel?

Now, to determine which latch you bought:

Does it have a large metal frame where it attaches to the car body with 3 bolts? If so it is the 86-91 style pull-down motor.

Does it have a tan-colored plastic frame where it attaches to the car body with 3 bolts? If so it is the late 91-92 style pull-down motor from a coupe.

Does it have a metal frame, attach to the car fraome with just 2 bolts and have a spring at the top to release the hatch hook? That would describe a slam latch from a late 91-92 convertible.

Once you've answered this I can help with installing it.

it has two bolts , which it did not come with.

 

also it has a cable coming out of which i see nowhere to attach the cable
