Custom made mohair top for my IROC!! Fitted
Hi guys,
As some of you know I am based in Britain. Now shipping a top over from one of the many fantastic options you have for tops over there, ends up being mighty expensive. Luckily, I found a local company in Leicester, England who specialise in interior work and convertible tops! They had just completed a re-fit of a TVR and a Jaguar XJS Vert so thought they were up to the task of the Zee!
My old top was the original and it was definitely looking tatty. I approached CoverTec Solutions and they were confident in pulling off the whole job for a good deal. They would use the finest German Mohair for the top. All I needed was a new rear bow from the US, which I ordered in.
The finished result (picked the car up Friday) is amazing! They have even made the inside of the hood tan to match my interior!
I will let the pics speak for themselves but what do you think?

Great job and looks great. How much did they charge you? Lets see some inside shots.

Looks awesome!
Curious about the back window. If all you needed was the rear bow and they did the mohair top, where did you score the rear window?
Did they fabricate it?
I 2nd the interior roof pics. Love to see that.

Thanks guys- will take some interior shots ASAP.
yankeecarman- worked out at $975 approx
coastiematt- I didn't want rear glass for 2 reasons. First it wasn't originally what the car had and second, I like a larger rear screen for visibility and being able to fold it without dropping rear seats.
Iroctopless- They fabricated it, using my old window as the template. It is even kite marked, which you can see in one of the pictures.
jeffwilly- thanks, the first ever Motor Trend review on the IROC Vert had the car with the black windscreen supports and I kinda like it too
Having said that, the car was like that when I got it. Probably something I won't bother changing.
