I got a trim piece from an auto upholstry shop. They didn't have it in black, but had a big roll of it in a burgundy color and cut me off about 8' for free. I originally planned to paint it black using plastic paint, but the burgundy actually looks good so that is how I left it.

Try an air-cooled VW shop. That's the same stuff as the fender welting VW used to use, and some places have in in different colors.

I did a Google search for fender welting that is used on VW's and street rods. Found JC Whitney had it in black and colors. I ordered a roll of black and one of white (white car). The bead is larger than original and I liked the white better.
