Semi-finished product. It wasn't bolted down here, we were just fitting the trunk lid back onto the car and wanted to set the spoiler on to see what we're working with. Should be done maybe this weekend. It's looking pretty good though!

Y'all are gonna have to wait a bit longer to see some really good photos. The trunk lid has to be done over from scratch. The fiberglass and bondo started lifting so I'm gonna have someone weld in some metal after I knock out all the body work where the tail light was.

Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done*
It should be done this weekend. I had to strip the paint off the trunk because the clear coat turned to crap and we couldn't fix it. I'm buying more paint today and will spray it tomorrow morning.

I had to re-epoxy one of the mounting bolts but it's on there and mounted. I'll crank down the last bolt tomorrow. I added two pop rivets to each end of it on the trunk lid too. It looks so awesome.
I'll have it on the ground and hopefully in some good photos later this week. Depends on how long it takes me to wire up my wideband gauge by myself haha

Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done*
It's 100% done now, but haven't got it on the ground for pictures yet.
I found a leak (again) in my clutch master cylinder, although this time it's coming from the fitting on the other side of the firewall, because I forgot to use teflon tape. I'll fix this tomorrow and have pictures ASAP. Or I could make it's debut at thirdgen fest?
I added some pop rivets to the ends on the lips of the trunk lid to add extra security, sure don't want this one flying off after having so many hours in it. I ended up painting the darn thing 3 times before it turned out right.

Man I really, really, really...really don't want to say I don't like it but it just looks a bit....off to me. It's just really tall? The craftsmanship is amazing, especially for an in-garage project. I can't commend that enough, dude. I'm seriously impressed. The front quarter shot looks fricken amazing but looking from the back it's a bit bulbous. For some reason I think pictures won't do that spoiler justice for the kind of "presence" it gives the car in person. I would love to see the car in person some day.
EDIT; Actually the profile shot doesn't look bad at all either. It's really just the rear 3/4 and *** shot that look off to me.

As for it looking tall, I think because it sits down on the trunk lid while the quarter panel caps raise up higher than the trunk lid, it does give the optical illusion that I made the spoiler taller than stock. However, I didn't add anything to the height of the spoiler, it's exactly as tall as one you'd see on a coupe, you're just not used to seeing it with no huge glass hatch behind it from the rear.

It really has an awesome presence when you see it in person, from the back it says "don't F with me" haha

That's one bad-*** Z28 you have there! I LOVE the addition of the high-rise spoiler. I always knew one would look good on a vert. The whole package works with the color, spoiler, the wheels and of course the engine. It must be so fun to drive that around with the top down on a beautiful day. I really think your Camaro is my favorite 3rd gen Camaro.

Nick........you got the skills man. Even when the decklid gave you a hard time, you admited it, and stuck with it until it was 100%. Good install and great looks. I hope to see the car in person someday.

Shouldn't take too much luck, it's a direct bolt-on as long as you drill the holes in the right places. Luckily for you, there's no trimming/hacking involved

Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!*
I don't like it, I think it was a bad idea. It doesn't flow with the car. I think you should have spray painted it blue and set it on the trunk just to test how it would look. Great craftmanship though. Sorry if this offends you.

It doesn't offend me at all, Dan. I don't do things to my car to get reactions from other people, I do it for myself
