Engine: 355 soon to be a 406
Transmission: 700r4 goin t5 then t56
Axle/Gears: 373 or 410
New top install
was wondering how hard it is to replace the top on my 92 bird vert my back window is broke and i really cant afford the $1000 to have the top replaced by someone else. so i was wondering if anyone has done it and if its way to hard for the average diy kinda thing any suggestions would be great

It wasn't too bad... Took about a day with installing new seals. I used the Topsonline.com stayfast with glass window. Fit and quality is excellent.

i replaced my top with one from tops on line. the install was easy. i used the link posted above as a reference. get a can of contact cement from lowes or home depot, and a few brushes. take your time and youll be happy.

I did mine myself for the first time and had minimal problems other than replacing the pads. Topsonline directions weren't very good, but common sense prevails.
I needed to replace the pads and the problem I ran into were the original pads had loops in them to slide over the rear bow, and the replacements did not. I wound up riveting the pads to the rear bow and wrapped the pad around one time to cover the rivet heads. If I had to do it over again I would have had the loops sewn in the new pads at a local upholstery shop before starting the project.
