Re: gas door cup

Maybe an expert will know for sure, but I could not find any special part in the Firebird Parts & Illustration manual under the Convertible section. Sorry, I don't have a Camaro one but a part like this is probably the same. Thus, it would appear to me to be the same part.

The book shows that all 1982-1992 Firebirds had the same pocket (10077471), unless the vehicle had the locking fuel door option. If the locking fuel door option, it does appear the pocket had a different part number.

Re: gas door cup

AFAIK they are the same. The one on my 'vert looks just like the one on my coupe, but I haven't pulled it out to check the number.

Re: gas door cup

Here is what I've found on both my 'verts while changing the fuel pumps. As we know the upper inner fender was replaced with a new structure to allow for the top storage. This intruded into the area for the fuel filler cup. On both cars the cup has been cut in the back to fit the contour of the inner fender (I assume by ASC) and were left open. Cuts are rough with plastic burrs hanging from them, and are both different. I think they were cut on a bandsaw for each individual car.
