Cup holder
Cup holder
SO, Not sure if any of the Camaro's in the 80's had cup holders, but mine doesn't.
So I was wondering if I can instal one and not hurt my value.
The location I was thinking about, was between my shifter, and jockey box. There is just a flat panel and nothing under it. If I were to cut a hole, and plastic weld in a cup holder, would it ruin my car?
If you guys are not sure where I am talking about, I can go take a pic of it.

Re: Cup holder
It had been done, and unless your car is a rare model in perfect original condition with very low miles it won't affect your value at all. I'm thinking about doing the same thing.
Re: Cup holder
Fairly sure the only thing rare about mine, is that it's a real IROC. Nothing else that I know of about it is rare, and it's far from showroom.

WHat would you guys pick?

Re: Cup holder
I would pick nothing with LEDS lol but that's just me. Feels to rice-y to me. I'm just gonna go to a junk yard and dig for a cup holder insert and make that fit.

Basically as there are not lights inside the car at night, it just gives you something to aim for.

Re: Cup holder
So I did it. Made my cup holder.
So I found center first

Got a hole saw. It was slightly smaller than the cup. I wanted it to be a tight fit.

But first I needed to pre drill a center hole. Didn't want the hole saw to drift off.

Bam, hole is done.

But it won't fit.

Time to enlarge the hole.

I put it in a drill, and slowly moved around the edge until it fit.

It's in!

So large, my large water bottles fit no problem.

No way these 40oz cups can fit right?

Re: Cup holder
Looks good, I'd have to push it a bit further back, I've got all the power window switches and stuff there
