89' RS Vert Weatherstripping

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could recommend me a decent weatherstripping (complete) set and possibly link it if they have a good site for replacement. I've been getting some mixed impressions from simply searching online and would like perhaps someone's opinion on either an aftermarket brand or GM if they still sell it anywhere. Thanks in advance.

Re: 89' RS Vert Weatherstripping

I just ordered a kit for the top from Summit Racing http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SFT-3187/ and the tonneau gasket from another vendor. Haven't received anything yet as I just ordered everything last Thursday. There are several vendors who sell various kits and individual pieces.

Re: 89' RS Vert Weatherstripping

The link to the Hawks Thirdgen parts I found, but I'm not sure as to whether or not it is a GM product or some aftermarket as they do not specify manufacturer ... In all I have found there to be 3 varieties of this weatherstripping, that being 1. GM original (rare and expensive, I cant even find any ... ),
2. Soffseal
3. Metro

Does anyone have any reviews ? based not so much on price, I'll pay anything for my baby haha, just so long as it fits right.

Re: 89' RS Vert Weatherstripping

tony @ A1AUTO has the best and cheapest kit I have ever found so I am trying it out on my 89 RS (ASC vert)....
http://www.1aauto.com/1A/Weatherstri...ampaign=1ATony

  • 4 Convertible Top Roofrail Seals
  • 2 Door Seals
  • 1 Convertible Rear Bow Seal
  • 1 Convertible Top Header Bow Seal
  • 2 Front Window Triangle Seals
  • 1 Tonneau Cover Seal (door that covers convertible top when down)
  • 2 Outer Belt Weatherstrip
  • 2 Inner Window Sweeps & Moldings
  • 2 Door Lock Pillar Seals
  • 1 Trunk Seal
the only stripping not included is the stuff that go's around the tail lights and under the hood (these are not convertible specific though). I thought I was going to get some off brand, but was surprised to see that it was all SuperSoft... I dare you to try and price it all out cheaper.

(I have more pix of all these too If you wanna see)

Ha! The A1 kit is cheaper and comes with more (didn't have this many pieces when I got mine)... I'm guessing the Hawks is GM deadstock. I have GM and Supersoft, don't see any difference in quality.
